A few quick colour tests applied to the typeface in it's current form. I opened up the original photograph of the patterned tiles and used the eyedropper tool to pick out a few hues - at the moment I'm most keen on the 'pewter' kind of colour (top) and it's an unusual tone and it doesn't distract from the typeface itself.
